PHOTOGRAPHER: Christopher MacDonald

WHERE: Algonquin Provincial Park, Ontario

WHEN: January 2017

DETAILS: Christopher MacDonald was hiking along a road that had been closed for the winter when he came across these foxes. “I sat and watched for a while as the male came by to try and mate with the female,” he says. “She would fight off his advances, then rub her tail along his face or rub up against him. The whole scene repeated itself several times.” MacDonald says wildlife photography is a year-round hobby for him.
