The Cowboy Way: Wisdom, Wit and Lore by Outdoor Canada contributor Duane Radford is a comprehensive tribute to the classic image of old-time cowboys, including Western lore and its influence on popular culture.

In Poachers, Polluters and Politics: A Fishery Officer’s Career, retired DFO officer Randy Nelson shares stories from his 35 years of netting law-breaking fishermen. The book includes hair-raising tales of grizzly bear attacks; angry axe-wielding, rock-throwing, shotgun-blasting fishermen and high-speed chases on dirt roads and through bush.

Kingston, Ontario, outdoorsman L.W. Oakley has complied a second volume of hunting tales in Inside the Wild 2. These 35 new stories are written in the tradition of Faulkner’s Big Woods, and go beyond the nuts and bolts of hunting to examine the spiritual and the poetic.
