I was checking a ADC beaver line and lost a 330. Looking around I noticed disturbance in the leaves behind me heading away from the pond. Tracked the trail about 200 yards on my hands and knees to find a bear at the other end. He took off but didn't go far thru the thick stuff. He huffed, I'd huff back, he growled, I growled back. He slowly tried to get down wind and I slowly crawled towards him. Finally I could see him about 25 feet away. All I could do was get a bullet into him and the chase was on. 3 more bullets and 2 km further, mostly on hands and knees because of the thick bush, it was all over.
Big bear for Nova Scotia.
