Spending a spring day paddling a small creek in a kayak is a great way to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine and get a little exercise. Oh, and when you need a rest, why not let a 10- to 20-pound channel catfish tow you around for a while? Sound too good to be true? Not at all. Every spring, many small Great Lakes tributaries play host to huge catfish. And not only are these fish incredible sport, but very few people even know these fisheries exist, and that makes for plenty of action for anglers in the know.
