Have It All (part 9)
|
| ANNE'S
LAND, Prince Edward Island |
If there’s a golf nut or a fan of Lucy Maud Montgomery
in your family, you sure won’t hear any complaints about
heading to P.E.I. for the next big vacation. Not only has the
smallest province been rated “Canada’s Best Golf
Destination” by the readers of Score Golf magazine, it’s
also the setting for Montgomery’s world-renowned Anne
of Green Gables. Not surprisingly, then, Anne’s Land in
north-central P.E.I. tops the list of the island’s destination
regions. And that works well for the anglers in the family:
P.E.I.’s small size puts a variety of fishing possibilities
within an hour’s drive. Especially popular are the abundant
spring-fed creeks—ideal habitat for the island’s
native brook trout. Looking for something bigger? Well, that’s
what the sea’s there for.
