My fellow editors and I here at Outdoor Canada just returned to the office from the Toronto International Boat Show down at the Direct Energy Centre, and now I can’t wait for the open-water season to arrive. Why? We just had a sneak preview of the official new Outdoor Canada fishing boat, a sleek Kingfisher 1925 Flex Sport (left). This is a brand new offering from the folks at WestWinn Group, and by all accounts it’s one sweet ride.

This past summer, field editor T.J. Schwanky took a 1925 for a test spin and he can’t say enough good things about the 19-footer’s smooth performance. WestWinn district business manager John Butts himself has been running a Flex since the summer, and he says the all-welded aluminum boat is amazing in big water—and in big waves.

Rick Rodo from Upper Canada Marine also took one of the new Kingfisher’s for a spin this past summer, and he was amazed at how it handled, turning on a dime. As I said, I can’t wait for the open water! Click here to get all the technical details on the complete new Kingfisher line of multi-species boats.

The Toronto International Boat Show kicks off later today with a Special Preview Night, but officially opens to the public tomorrow at 10 a.m. and runs through to January 22. Click here for times and admission prices. If you head down, be sure to drop by the Kingfisher display area to check out our new boat.
