When to go: Late July to September is best.

Where to fish: Fish deep rock reefs and trenches.

Tip: Troll eight- to 14-inch plugs, big spoons or vertically jig giant tubes.

When to fish: The end of June and the beginning of July are best.

Where to fish: Fish shallow, muddy bays or the mouths of bays.

Tip: Big, soft-bodied swimbaits such as the Storm WildEye Swim Shad attract big gators.
