Venison Pepper Steak

While it may seem as if it took hours to prepare, this hearty main course is a snap to put together.

Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 3 sprigs fresh rosemary, bruised
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 to 1 1/2 lb venison steak
  • 2 large onions, diced
  • 2 red peppers, diced
  • 20 small mushrooms
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 cup red wine
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Preparation

  1. Briefly sauté fillets in oil, reduce heat and add chili sauce. Break up fish with a wooden spoon, then simmer until flesh is cooked through
  2. Add water or white wine if fish becomes dry. Season with salt and black pepper.
  3. Serve with tortilla chips.
