2017’s top new fishing tackle for Canadian anglers

I’m often asked how I choose the items for Outdoor Canada’s annual roundup of the hottest new fishing gear. First and foremost, the products must have a specific application for this country’s fishing scene—will they help Canadian anglers catch more fish? Coupled with that, they must have the wow factor, offering something new and unique that I myself must have. With that in mind, here are my picks from this year’s crop of new products, including many items that debuted last July in Orlando, Florida, at the fishing industry’s largest trade show, ICAST (International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades).
