It may be pricey, but 131 Braid aims to be the smoothest-casting braided line on the market. Made of 12 strands of high-modulus polyethylene fibres woven around a Gore Performance Fibre centre, this thin, slick line is designed to pass through rod guides with ease, while offering superior knot strength. It comes in eight strengths, from six- to 80-pound-test. This summer, I look forward to using it for big toothy critters.
