STEP # 2  MANAGING THE STOCKPILE

So, what do you do with the culled flies? If you’re like me and can’t bear to get rid of them, you’ll need some kind of overflow storage. For this, I use those large compartment trays intended for lures (above). In some boxes, I tuck away the oddballs I’ll probably never fish. In others, I keep a handy supply of my favourites. That way, if I use up the four size 12 Hendricksons from my working fly box, it just takes a moment to refill it.
