#5  LOAD LOGIC

Over the years, I’ve taken ducks with both 12- and 20-gauge shotguns, using shot sizes ranging from BB to #6. However, my go-to now is a 12-gauge paired with three-inch Winchester Blind Side shotshells with #3 shot. I find this load patterns well for 20- to 30-metre shots over dry-land decoys. The unique, hex-shaped steel payload also retains downrange velocity, making for one-shot kills. This year, Winchester is introducing Blind Side 2, which I look forward to also trying. It features even more aerodynamic hex-shaped pellets, as well as improved wads, to further enhance performance.
