#2 THE TOOLS
A good cleaning rod is the first requirement. Equip it with a properly sized bronze bore brush and a jag for holding patches. Add a solvent capable of removing both powder and copper fouling and you have the minimum required gear (Canadian-made 1st Choice Bore Cleaner is excellent). I also recommend you get an oversized bore mop for cleaning the chamber, and a bore guide to centre the rod and keep solvent out of unwanted areas.
