We recently put another issue of Outdoor Canada to bed, so we’ve finally been able to spend some quality time aboard the magazine’s official fishing machine for 2015, a new Alumacraft Trophy 195 LE. Our main target species have been smallmouth and largemouth bass, and the boat has certainly put us on the fish.

Not only does the Trophy handle well on big water, such as Lake Simcoe, it can also navigate surprisingly skinny water using the bow-mounted MinnKota (see photo above). And the bimini top has been a godsend on some of the baking-hot days we’ve had of late. Here are a few recent photos from our time on the water.

The Trophy 195 trailers well, and so far it's travelled to Muskoka, Haliburton and Lake Simcoe, with plenty more fishing adventures to come this season.

Skinny water
There’s loads of casting room on the Trophy 195, and as you can see, the boat can handle getting you in and out of the slop.
