A good net is one of the most important tools you can take fishing, and puts a lot of fish in the boat that otherwise wouldn’t be caught. Enter the EGO S2 Slider Series, which comes in multiple versions to suit all fishing styles and species. In particular, they come with different handle lengths, hoop sizes and net materials. The variable-length handles easily extend and retract with a simple push-pull action. The Slider Compact goes from 18 to 36 inches long, the Slider covers 29 to 60 inches and the Slider Reach stretches from 48 to108 inches. The net bags are available in nylon mesh, rubber mesh, clear rubber mesh, PVC coated nylon mesh, rubber coated nylon mesh and PVC coated measure net and come in 14×18, 10.5×15, 12×15, 13.5×17, 14×16, 17×19, 19×21, 22×23, 24×27, 24×29, 27×33 and 30×36 sizes.
A unique feature of these EGO nets is that the net can be removed from the handle with a simple twisting action, and replaced with a deck brush, boat hook, lure retriever, deck mop or a different size and style of net. Since I do a lot of walleye fishing, I run an S2 Slider-Large PVC Coated net. It’s perfect for scooping up even the biggest of walleye and hooks don’t get stuck in the PVC netting. And on windy days, I swap it for a boat hook for grabbing the dock.
