The Shimano Vanford A is a solid, lightweight mid-sized fishing reel that will allow dad to stay on the water for hours, making smooth casts and effortless retrieves. With CI4 bodies, these reels are lightweight yet rugged. They feature Shimano’s MGL Rotors that allow seamless “start-and-stop” reeling for finesse bass and walleye presentations and quick hook sets. The guts of these reels are powered by InfinityXross technology, which is a gear design that enhances winding efficiency and smooth retrievals. For added smoothness, these reels feature Infinity Drive technology, which reduces contact between the spool shaft and pinion gear. To help battle fish, these reels use DuraCross drags, which are extremely smooth. I currently have one of these reels on my live-bait rigging rod. Based on its performance, I’ll be adding more of them to my jigging and ripping rods.
