Tackle Week 2026: The best rods, reels & lines for tackling Canadian waters (at any budget)

Best Finesse Braid

REVOLVE

Sufix designed this high-performance braid for finesse applications, with a minimal diameter for casting light lures. It also promises improved lure action, better knot strength and fewer wind knots. Ideal for both spinning and lightweight baitcasting reels, it comes in high-vis neon and low-vis green, and six-, eight-, 10- and 12-pound strengths. The 200-yard spool is marked at the midpoint so it can be split between two reels.

Best Spinning Braid

OVERWATCH

Specifically designed for spinning reels, Overwatch has a slick surface to reduce guide friction and improve casting distance, as well as high flexibility to reduce coiling. The line also features 12-inch lengths of chartreuse alternating with 30-inch lengths of green, making it easier to watch for light bites. It’s available in eight- 10-, 12-, 16 and 18-pound strengths.
