Making the Case

To decide which carrying case is right for you, first consider where you’ll be transporting your bow or firearm—and how you plan to get there.

Material

Soft cases are light, making them easy to hike with or pack in a vehicle. They protect bows and firearms against dust, scrapes and bumps, which is often all you need. Hard cases are heavier and bulkier, but offer much more protection. If you plan to fly, pick a tough, premium-quality lockable case that you can safely check-in.

Style

Do you want a case that only accommodates your bow or gun, or do you also want space or compartments for accessories? Also consider whether you need a single case, or something larger to accommodate multiple bows or guns, or a bow or gun with mounted optics. With large, hard cases, wheels can come in handy.
