The Doc reveals the two key secrets of fishing docks

Docks are probably the best form of man-made cover ever constructed for largemouth and smallmouth bass, walleyes, yellow perch, black crappies, northern pike and muskies.

Fact of the matter is that docks rival fallen trees in their fish drawing power, so at one time of the season or another, you can probably catch every species of fish found in your favourite lake, river or reservoir around or beneath the best docks.

But those last two words …. best docks …. are the key.

What makes one dock dynamite and another dock ho-hum?  Why is it that you catch fish under the same docks year after year while you never get a bite under so many of the others?  And finally, how can you look around the lake and pick out the high percentage docks before you even start up the big engine and pull away from the launch ramp?

It is the subject of this week’s Fish Talk With the Doc video tip that I recorded recently for TV’s Fish ‘N Canada Show.  If you fish on a lake or river with docks, you need to know how to size them up quickly. This is the way to do it.
