NUNAVUT
This is a huge territory of primarily northern wilderness—there are few roads, so ground access can be an issue for hunters. The list of big-game animals for which there is a hunting season is impressive: black bears, caribou, grizzly bears, moose, muskox, polar bears and wolves. Plus, the hunting seasons are long and the bag limits are generous. Caribou are Nunavut’s most sought after big game, but their populations are fluctuating and mostly trending down. It’s crucial that you check the latest hunting regulations to be certain of which herds are open to hunting.
