Weatherby’s goal when designing the Backcountry Ti was to make it lighter than five pounds, yet still deliver magnum performance based on the 6.5 WBY RPM cartridge. It achieved that by integrating a titanium receiver and carbon-fibre stock, while adding a new muzzle brake and recoil pad design to avoid excessive felt recoil from the reduced weight.
