Alberta boasts the largest cougars in North America, with populations thriving up and down the foothills wherever prey is abundant. Hunting starts by searching for tracks, then releasing hounds trained to follow the cougar’s scent until the cat is treed. Just be prepared for a lot of tough walking through deep snow. The Alberta Professional Outfitters Society can help you arrange a hunt.
