Maybe you recognize retired marine and actor Ronald Lee Ermey as Gunnery Sergeant Hartman, the tough marine corps drill instructor he portrayed in the classic, and disturbing, Vietnam War movie Full Metal Jacket. Or, perhaps you recognize his voice (he was Sarge) from watching the animated feature Toy Story with your kids (or alone, hey, there’s no judgment here.)
Well, now you have the chance to meet, and possibly (but very unlikely), impress him in person. Launching today, SOG Specialty Knives & Tools “Are you the gunny?” contest challenges participants to videotape their best impression of the iconic actor and submit them via the company’s Facebook page.

The contest winner and a guest will be flown to Las Vegas in January for the 2011 Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show and Conference. Besides gaining access to the show, the winner will have a chance to host a beverage with “The Gunny.” Just be prepared to drop and give him 20.
