Clouser Crayfish
HOOK: 3x-long streamer, sizes 2 to 8
MOUTH: Pheasant tail
EYES: Black large EP crab shimp eyes
CLAWS: Natural mallard flank or saddle feathers
BACK: Light olive furry foam
DUBBING: Sand or tan antron dubbing
LEGS: Brown or grizzly hackle
An outstanding imitation of smaller crayfish, one of the things I like best about this fly way it de-emphasises the claws, while offering a relatively chunky body. This makes it look like a relatively defenceless hunk of protein. It can be a bit fiddly to tie, but once you get the hang of it, as shown in the video below, it’s a great looking pattern.
