When to fish: Spring and fall are best, though winter can also be good.

Where to fish: Fish near islands, in bays and the edges of weedbeds.

Tip: Use medium- to fast-sinking lines and mini-leeches, Woolly Buggers, dragonfly nymphs and Spratleys, or try fishing chironomids.
