#4 LIVE BAIT
When perch fishing, I often tip my jig heads, small spoons and single hooks with bait. The bait must be small enough, though, that the fish inhales both it and the hook, leading to more successful hooksets. So, only use small leeches and just a chunk of a night crawler rather than the entire worm. Similarly, if you go with live or preserved minnows, skewer on the smallest ones you can find. If only large minnows are available, break them in half.
