I’ve done half a dozen fly-in outpost trips, and one thing has become pretty clear: the biggest barrier isn’t always the cost or the fishing. It’s time.

A traditional fly-in trip can require a full day, or even two, of driving before you even reach the floatplane, and the same on the way home. For people with limited vacation time—or families, jobs and other commitments—that can almost double the time away from home for your fishing trip, making it a major undertaking and disruption to your home life.
