For most people travelling to Hawaii, flip-flops, shorts, a swimsuit, a few T-shirts and a hoodie are the only apparel they need. But if you’re not most people, and you’re planning to bowhunt for trophy black Hawaiian sheep before sunrise well above sea level, you’ll also need a down jacket and a toque. I should know—that’s exactly how I spent one of my mornings while on vacation in Hawaii with my family last winter. Here’s how the hunt played out.
