Managing editor Bob Sexton caught this 22-inch fish (or so) on a 3/4-ounce chartreuse ReelBait Flasher jig tipped with a minnow. Heavy jigs are necessary to stay down on the bottom where the fish are. Everyone on board used braided line, from six- to 10-pound-test. Two of the four anglers used leaders, but these fish didn’t seem to care either way.
