7 reasons why I keep fishing Ontario’s Bon Echo Provincial Park

#7 It’s like wilderness fishing, but not that far from home

Bon Echo Provincial Park is located just north of the small town of Cloyne, Ontario, on Highway 41. It’s about a 2½-hour drive from Ottawa, and about 3½ hours from Toronto. In summer, reservations are highly recommended, using Ontario Parks’ excellent on-line reservation system.

And if you see a big fella with a mango-yellow kayak and an Outdoor Canada hat, be sure to paddle over and say “Hi.” I’ll tell you a few of my spots, if you tell me a few of yours. Also, special thanks to superintendent Clark Richards, plus the whole Ontario Parks team, for inviting me to visit and offering such a warm welcome. I’ll be back again soon.
