WRANGLER FLY FISHING KITS

With these new Wrangler Kits, Redington continues its mission to rehabilitate the reputation of ready-to-fish fly-gear packages. To simplify choosing a kit, Wranglers are organized by species, rather than the usual, and more arcane standard of line weight. There are currently six models, starting with Pond & Creek (a 4-weight rod for small fish) and running through Trout, Larger Water, Bass, Salmon (which is also the one you’d want for pike) and Saltwater. The kits are anchored by Redington’s new and extremely well-reviewed 9-foot, 4-piece Wrangler rod, which has an easy-casting, medium-fast action. Kits also include the sturdy-but-inexpensive Crosswater fly reel, a Mainstream fly line from Rio Products (owned by the same company as Redington) and a Rio leader, all of which fit into a nylon carrying case. Wrangler kits are also priced very attractively US$249. Learn more: www.redington.com
