A simple worm-and-hook combo has likely caught me more brook trout than any other offering, but just about any soft-plastic presentation that you would use for panfish can work. Just add a small splitshot to help get your lure down into the deeper pockets. And if you think you’ve blown your cover and alerted the fish, take a break for 15 minutes then try again.
