Red River
The large numbers of walleye staging in the Red River near Selkirk, Manitoba, each fall take on a beautiful, distinctive green hue because of the river’s clay substrate. Anglers regularly catch these 10- to 15-pound trophies, known as greenbacks, using a variety of techniques, but jigging and trolling rattling crankbaits are the most popular methods. Guide Todd Longley can lead you to the hot spots.
