9 expert tips to keep your waterfowl decoys looking ducky (and goose-ish)

Deke upkeep

Your decoys aren't duping ducks and geese? It’s probably time for some long overdue maintenance

Include baby wipes in your waterfowling kit so you can wipe clean your decoys if needed at the end of each hunt. You’ll often find blood, bird poop and dirt on the surfaces, but a quick wipe will efficiently remove the mess while it’s still fresh. For dirt and grime that you don’t catch before it dries on, use disinfecting wipes. They have more cleaning power, yet they’re still mild enough that they won’t damage the paint.
