I have a mint-condition Model 94 .30-30 RCMP rifle that I bought new in 1973 (above). It has never been fired, and it’s in the original box, complete with rings and papers. The serial number is RCMP 337. I’m curious about its value. Thank you.

You’ve done well in keeping your commemorative RCMP rifle in as-new condition. Even the box looks to be in pretty good shape; a lot of them seem to get faded and tattered over the years. Winchester made 9,500 of these rifles for sale to the public, and possibly more—the highest serial number recorded by Winchester was RCMP 10442. Another 4,850 were made exclusively for current or retired RCMP members; they had “MP” as the serial number prefix.

Recently, it seems the values have been increasing somewhat for this model. Online, I’ve seen examples with asking prices of $1,400 to as high as $1,850, and not all of them were in the same good shape as yours. I think it’s safe to say your rifle would bring in $1,200 to $1,600 at a well-publicized gun auction.
