When to fish: Late fall is best, but summer produces big fish, too.

Where to fish: Big fish can be found in three to six feet of water.

Tip: Make very long casts using tubes or jerkbaits on eight- to 10-pound fluorocarbon, or drop-shot.

Where to fish: Look for strong current around points and humps.

Tip: Drop-shot with a heavy weight and a soft-plastic jerkbait.
