Where to fish: Around rivermouths.

Tip: Use jigs or spoons.

Smallmouth bass; Good numbers of fish and a variety of presentation options

When to fish: Early July and September.

Where to fish: Sharp-dropping shoreline edges, island points, rock shoals and sand flats.

Tip: Cast spinnerbaits, topwater poppers, in-line spinners, stick worms and tube jigs.
