We Canadians certainly enjoy communing with nature, and fishing and hunting play a big role in our national outdoor life. A few months ago, the results of the 2012 Canadian Nature Survey, the first national poll of its kind in more than 15 years, were released. Approximately 24,000 adult Canadians from every province and territory answered questions about their outdoor activities in the 12 months prior to taking the survey. Here’s what they revealed about hunting and angling. For the complete results, go to www.biodivcanada.ca.
Over one-fifth (21%) of Canadians go fishing, at least once a year. Some are better at it than others.
