NUNAVUT
There are no roads leading into Nunavut and few within the territory itself—this is true northern wilderness. The list of game animals for which there are hunting seasons is impressive: black bears, caribou, grizzly bears, moose, muskox, polar bears and wolves. Plus, the seasons are long and the bag limits generous. Caribou are Nunavut’s most sought-after big-game animal, but populations are mostly trending down. Hunters must consult the latest regulations, which are regularly updated to maintain sustainable caribou harvests.
