Years since sockeye salmon have been unable to return to B.C.’s Okanagan Lake due to an inoperable fish ladder at the Penticton Dam. Some 30,000 sockeye were expected to enter the lake after the Okanagan Nation Alliance and Fisheries and Oceans Canada restored the ladder in October.
