Details: “This nest is an annual occurrence,” says Les Kalman, a photographer of more than 25 years. “As a family, we watch in amazement how a mother nurtures her young. We try not to get too close, not to disturb nature. I had fabricated a perch on top of a stepladder, rigged a monopod for support and waited there for the right opportunity.”
