Photographic memories of fun days afield and on the water

Kudos to Gavin Gerrits, 12, for releasing this monster smallmouth bass on Ontario’s Baptiste Lake this past July, even though it may have been a new Ontario record. With a length of 26 inches and girth of 20, it calculated to 9.45 pounds, just under the 9.84-pound record. “He didn’t have a scale with him, so he couldn’t record the weight,” says dad Mark Gerrits. “He threw it back for someone else to catch.”
