Introducing the Griz

My guide to the area’s angling was Mike “The Griz” Ritz, local legend, longtime American ex-pat, and host of TV’s Adventures South of the Border, which airs in 28 countries, including Wild TV in Canada. It was the larger-than-life Griz (in the white hat—obviously) who located La Paz’s little-known population of giant roosterfish, and figured out how to catch them. Griz also recently co-starred in a video than went viral (four million-plus views) featuring a sea lion stealing a big fish right off his boat.
