First cutthroat trout

First cutthroat

After three days of throwing flies, plus spoons and pink rubber worms at the steelhead with minimal success, and a few jokes about trying a C-I-L Wiggler, I ended up with a pretty great consolation prize. Turns out the lower reaches of the Salmon River are practically overrun with cutthroat trout, so we switched to light tackle, and fired spoons at undercut banks and brushpiles as we drifted by. Here’s my first ever cuttie. Not the guy I came to B.C. to catch, but a very nice fish, and another species off my bucket list.
