Family fishing fun in Myrtle Beach
Even in snowbird season, there are plenty of fish in the sea

Although we couldn’t keep the bass, in an hour and a half, we probably landed about 50 fish, making for the greatest angling experience of my daughter’s life (and a good tripleheader photo op, including my better half, Julie Blair.) Fun fact about black seas bass: they’re all born female, and between two and five years of age, some specimens transition into males. By the way, we used such stout rigs and heavy line for these smallish fish, because there was a good chance their feeding frenzy would attract sharks. I would love to have seen one of my girls with a shark on the line, but it wasn’t to be.
