#2  CANISTER STOVES

Operating much like liquid fuel stoves, these stoves are easier to use thanks to the disposable pressurized canister of butane, isobutane or propane; most modern canister stoves run on a blended fuel. They’re light, compact and efficient, and they work well in the wind. Plus, they don’t require pumping. They’re available with upright or inverted canisters (the latter helps maintain pressure). Drawbacks include the more expensive fuel, and poorer performance in the cold and at higher altitudes.
