Art director Sandra Cheung and I recently shouldered the heavy burden of traveling to Kenora, Ontario, to fish Gord Pyzer’s home waters. Talk about an ice-fishing education. Gotta love fishing in northern Ontario: www.ontariotravel.net/gofish.
Secret lake, secret bait
On our first day, we fished a waterbody Gord would only call Secret Backcountry Lake #4. Conditions were tough with high winds, grey skies and slushy shin-deep snow, but I connected with this fine lake trout around noon. In its mouth is a secret bait (think tube jig, dressed for a nightclub). You’ll be hearing about it soon.
