A crappie morning
The term “world class” thrown around a lot, but on Day 2 Gord took us to Secret Bay X on Secret Lake Y for some genuinely world class crappie fishing. The three of us landed at least 20 crappies, including four that—no word of a lie—were just shy of two pounds. This was true finesse fishing—and not easy, either—gently quivering a Marmooska jig tipped with a Gulp Alive tail and teasing them in, while intently watching both the flasher and spring bobber. Oh, and Gord’s 2015 tip about fly-style reels is a very good one.
