Winter getaway: A family fishing adventure in Myrtle Beach

Looking into the water while hauling up another bass, Sam got a huge thrill after spotting a shark following—and eventually slicing off—a struggling bass (but the line held, thanks to that 80-pound test). Captain John quickly re-baited with a big hunk of cut bait, dropped the line back in and, 30 seconds later, Sam was almost dragged overboard by the power of a 30-inch Atlantic sharpnose shark. As you can see from the jump above, it was a real fighter.
