And just like in the fishing shows, I finished off the day with our largest fish, a little football of a rainbow that savagely smacked my Pink Shiny Fly (in fact, notice how it’s not even visible in the photo). All in all, it’s hard to imagine a finer fall day of fishing.
For membership info or to book the club’s meeting room (fishing between PowerPoint presentations? Sounds good to me!), contact The Franklin Club by phone at (905) 473-1469 or via e-mail. And a big thanks to Jim Oosterbroek for showing us the hatchery (and suggesting a fly with some red or pink on it), the chef for a couple of fantastic venison burgers, and especially director of member relations Julie Powers, for putting it all together.
